INTRODUCTION:
India is agriculture based country. More than
70% of the people are the farmers. They grow rice, paddy, wheat, etc.
Agriculture is the backbone of our country. Till recently the farmers were
using age-old instruments in cultivating their lands. They themselves were putting
the manual labor. Hence there was not the labor- problem. There agriculture laborers
were skilled in their work. Their son & daughters were also trained in this
work from the beginning. And they continued that work. But now the youngsters
are attracted by the city life & jobs in the towns. They are not ready to
continue their family work. They have no interest in that also. Therefore the
poor farmers are facing the acute shortage of laborers. It has become a burning
problem. Many lands are left uncultivated.
So
more & more auto-machines & equipment are to be discovered.
Especially in spraying the pesticides to the farm, nursery, and these machines
which can save time and do the timely work are a must. In this respect robot
will be of great use. It will save time, money, human energy and manual labor.
It must be designed and manufactured in such a way that it must be the
friend-in-need of the farmers. If it is so single man can do such works and
innumerable uncultivated lands can be cultivated and the country will not
suffer from food-shortage. So we developed a prototype model of “Agriculture
Based Robot”.
PROJECT
OBJECTIVES:
The
objectives of this project are:
Ø It can be used to spray
pesticides to the paddy fields.
Ø It can also be sprayed to
more distance.
Ø We can control it by
sitting at home.
Ø It will reduce the gain
of human energy& manual laborer.
Ø It will save the
time& money.
Ø It can be used to spray
pesticides to the crop in the field and also nursery
WHY IT IS
NEEDED?
Till recently the farmers were using age-old
instruments in cultivating their lands. They themselves were putting the manual labor. Hence there was the labor problem. Farmer’s facing this type
of labor shortage. Because, now the
youngsters are attracted by the city life & jobs in the towns. The farmer’s
struggled from this laborer problem. To solve the laborer problem this type
of robot can help more to the farmer’s. and also the farmer’s save the money by
adopt the robot in agriculture field.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The figure 1.1 and figure 1.2 shows the
implementation block diagram of “The Agriculture Based Robot”. The
block diagram consists of Microcontroller Unit ( P89V51RD2), IC, RS-232 port,
Key-pad, TV, Wireless Camera, Motors &driver circuit, etc.
Robot System:
Robot Unit:
It is nothing but a
receiver. This unit consists of receiving antenna, receiver, decoder,
8051microcontroller IC, motor driver circuit & motors. Here the signal is
received from the antenna and goes to receiver. Then we can decode signal with
the use of decoder. All motors are controlled by the motor driver circuit &
with the help of 8051microcontroller.
Camera Transmitter:
It consists of camera, RF
controller, transmitter, & transmitting antenna. Here the camera capture or
view the images. That can be converted into RF signal and transmitted through
an antenna.
Robot Controlling Unit:
Controlling Unit:
It is our actual
transmitter. It consists of controlling switches, Encoder, and Transmitter.
Here the spraying action and all other actions are controlled by this unit.
Camera receiver:
It has a receiving
antenna to receive the signal. And this can be displayed with the help of TV.
This is a part remote controlling unit.
Operation:
The
following steps briefly demonstrate our project.
STEP1:-
Our robot helps to farmers in such a way that, control it by sitting at home. We can
construct/adopt the camera circuits for this application. The robot gives the
clear picture as well as noiseless sound. So we can see your fields sitting at
home.
STEP2:-
With the help of robot, we can spray pesticides or water to the field. And the
robot covers more distance of the fields. We can use submersible pump for spray
pesticides to more distances.
STEP3:-
The moving right, left, forward, reverse, all type of action are controlled
with the help of the transmitter and receiver. All these action take place when
the user pressing the keypad. So the user can move robot in critical areas
& also it can be easily controlled.
CIRCUIT
DIAGRAM:
ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES:
Advantages:
Ø
It can be used to spray pesticides to the crop in the field and also
nursery.
Ø It can also be sprayed to more
distance.
Ø We can control it by sitting at
home.
Ø It will reduce the gain of human
energy& manual laborer.
Ø It will save the time& money.
Disadvantages:
Ø Initial implementation cost will be more.
Ø Special knowledge is required to operate the system.
Ø Alternate maintenance required.
CONCLUSION:
Till recently the
farmers were using age-old instruments in cultivating their lands. They
themselves were putting the manual
labor. Hence there was not the labor- problem. There agriculture laborers were
skilled in their work. Their son & daughters were also trained in this work
from the beginning. Farmer’s facing this type of labor shortage. So we are
introducing the robot to solve all these type of problems. The key-features of
our robot is,
Ø Due to the advancement in
technology we are using our beautiful project Agriculture Based Robot. It helps
us for fast working, consumes our precious time, and saves human power.
Ø So our main intension is to bring
new change in the field of agriculture and to improvise India in agriculture
and also improve Indian economy.
FUTURE SCOPE:
Our robot can be implemented as climbing
robot in future. And spray the pesticides to the areca-nut trees. Also we can
make it as plucking robot for the plucking of areca-nuts. In future it can be used as areca-nut
plucking by making small changes in hardware parts and software parts. We can
also add features like weed plucking. We can also use it as a security for our
farms. It can be used to even do daily house hold activities. Due to this robot
we can reduce human efforts and human work. Due to lack of human resources we
can use this robot to reduce human work and manual laborer problems in the agriculture
field.
The below three figure shows the 2 options
are available to implement our robot. That is, make it as walking robot or
climbing robot. To make our robot as climbing robot then, there are two type
options. That is, itself the robot has climbing parts and another method is to
use the climbing machines. We can implement all these to robot then it can be
easily climbing the coconut as well as areca-nut trees.
